I am a registered psychologist in private practice in Vancouver, BC. My office is located in the Fairmont Medical Building, on the corner of West Broadway and Willow Street..

I completed a Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology at the University of Alberta in 1996. Since that time, I have been in private practice, providing effective counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. Prior to 1996, I had over 25 years of working experience, first as a teacher, consultant, parent educator and finally a regional office manager with the Alberta Department of Education. I lived in Edmonton until 2003, when my husband David and I moved to the Vancouver area. We first opened a private practice in Richmond, BC, where we worked together as "Richmond Relationship Counselling Services." In 2008, as David decided to reduce his working hours to devote more time to music and volunteer activities, we moved our home and office to Vancouver.

While I continue to enjoy working with individuals, I have specialized over the past 10 years in working with couples, and have recently completed certification in Imago Relationship Therapy. I have also studied numerous other approaches to relationship counselling, and I am able to adapt according to my clients' particular circumstances and needs.

In my work with clients, I hold a strong belief that we all have within ourselves the resources and strengths required to deal with life's challenges. I begin by creating a safe, supportive, constructive and collaborative working relationship with my clients, and encourage them to find ways of connecting with their own inner strengths and wisdom. Rather than assuming the role of "expert," I see myself as a facilitator of growth, a guide and a partner along the road to wellness.
